In my experience, I have found it to be incredibly beneficial for my tween and teen clients to engage in walk and talk therapy sessions in the outdoors. The change of scenery often times encourages new topics to come up without feeling suppressed by the environment clients are receiving virtual therapy in. Right now many families are stuck at home under the same roof, which can increase tensions in the home and limit privacy. Many times we forget that our bodies tend to hold onto emotional traumas. Walk and talk therapy sessions encourages our bodies to let go of those stuck feelings while the nature provides a reprieve from electronics, offering a calming effect. These services are available to clients during spring, summer, and fall seasons weather permitting.
New clients are required to meet virtually for their initial appointment prior to scheduling walk and talk therapy sessions. The clinician will determine if the client is appropriate for walking sessions post the initial appointment.
The client is responsible for meeting the therapist at the listed location provided at the time of the scheduled appointment. During the Covid-19 pandemic masks are required.
Walking appointments are offered to clients in the following areas:
-Wilmette, IL
-Glenview, IL
- Skokie, IL
Existing clients will have the option of scheduling psychotherapy appointments online, and can choose between walking or virtual appointments here.
